LAMINATION
Lamination usually goes hand in hand with large format printing. Since most
papers are delicate and not waterproof (we offer a wide range of waterproof
materials), lamination is a great way to finish and protect your project.
We offer four main types of lamination: Gloss, Satin & Matte, Vinyl
overlamination, and Lexan lamination.
Gloss and satin are the most common type of lamination. It is a clear
polyester based film that is applied with a heated laminator. It is popular
mainly because of it's high quality and low price. Our standard films for
gloss and satin are 5mil thick, UV resistant and provide a 10mil thick
encapsulation around your print. The gloss provides extremely bright colors
and a glass-like finish. Satin provides less glare without dulling the image.
Matte lamination is available as well, but tends to dull the image and mutes
the colors. All types can be rolled for shipping. When prints are laminated
and mounted to foam board, the combined product provides an extra rigidity
to the otherwise fragile board. 3mil and 10mil thicknesses are available
upon request.
Vinyl Overlamination is a one sided self adhesive vinyl based lamination
that comes in a few different finishes (gloss, satin and matte) and
thicknesses. It is applied using a cold laminator and can be used in the
same applications as the heated laminants discussed above. One
difference between the two types is that the vinyl can be adheared to self
adhesive vinyl prints. Since, self adhesive material needs to have a release
liner to expose the glue adhesive, the one sided flexible vinyl overlam suits
this particular application perfectly, thus providing extra uv (ultra violet)
protection to the already waterproof self adhesive vinyl. This type of
lamination is slightly more expensive. Please ask a sales representative for

Lexan lamination is the ultimate trade show solution. It is a 20mil thick,
durable, non glare, scratch resistant product. This is the same high quality
material that the professional tradeshow exhibitors use! Perfect for Skyline
displays, just ask us to add velcro to the back and stick it to the display wall.
Also used for floor graphics and retail wall graphics where customers may
be in direct contact with it. Ask a sales representative for a sample of this
material.
